Description
Noble Japanese studying at night; he sits in rich clothes, his left hand resting on the fan, in front of his reading desk which receives light from the lamp whose paper walls patterned by pressing are open. A small table with a koro in front of him spreads pleasant smoke; a whole pile of books surrounds the reader, while two swords are visible on the sword stand behind him; abundant use of blind embossing; silver, gold print; light yellow background patterned by a white latticework with the Hovogel coat of arms.
