Description
The house is depicted in detail on five sheets; barrels of sake under the stairs; altar with small pagoda in front of the house, Koranic lions; Daruma figure, sacrificial bottles; hosts with wife grouped around hibashi and tea kettle; behind the gallery of a garden, women at the toilet; servants cleaning trays; background: empty room with a picture of a ho-bird.

Acquired by Herbert Ginsberg in Japan in 1908; 1908 - at least end of 1929 Ostasiatica collection Herbert Ginsberg, Berlin; after 1945 no longer in the possession of Herbert Ginsberg; circumstances of loss unknown - a loss as a result of Nazi persecution cannot be ruled out. Whereabouts unknown
